In no particular order, here are things you need to know.
- The prices listed for renting products are to be understood as prices per day. The longer the rental period, the cheaper per day is the rental.
- Dueñas does sell to the rest of the Caribbean. But Dueñas only delivers to the outgoing port in Puerto Rico. The client must arrange for the overseas transportation from Puerto Rico to their destination port.
- Shipping containers are the ideal solution in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean because they are sturdy and are impervious to hurricanes and earthquakes.
- Dueñas has been in business since 1991.
- Customers can call in English and in Spanish.
- The US dollar is used in Puerto Rico. Prices are therefore listed in US dollars as well.
- Dueñas has its own in-house repair facility for containers, reefers, etc. We inspect and repair any of our used products in these facilities before selling them.
- Many of the items we sell are items we previously rented out. You can be sure that they have been maintained carefully and inspected annually for problems with water, rust, etc.
- We manufacture the FlexTainers ourselves at our facility in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
- FlexTainers can be either 20′ or 40′ containers.
- FlexTainers can be customized to suit your needs. Some come with restrooms or not.
- FlexTainers are fully finished inside with professional installation of walls, windows, and air conditioning units as well as tiled or carpeted floors (your choice).
- FlexTainers are painted with a special heavy acrylic paint that gives them many years of trouble-free service in our salty Caribbean climate.
- Dueñas is a Puerto Rican company, a family-owned firm since 1991.
- One trip or one-trip containers are containers that have been used only once. This generally means they were filled with cargo in the USA, transported here to Puerto Rico, and immediately sold. They are practically brand new.
- 20′ or 20-foot or 20 ft containers come in used (good condition) and one-trip condition. Their outside measurements are 20 feet long by 8 feet wide.
- 40′ or 40-foot or 40 ft containers come in used (good condition) and one-trip condition. They also come in DV (8.3 feet tall) or HC (9.3 feet tall). HC stands for “high cube.” Their outside measurements are 40 feet long by 8 feet wide.
- Shipping containers are made of corten steel. This is also known as “weathering” steel. This means it is a special industrial alloy that is made to resist weather, salt, and anything else you throw at it.
- A well maintained shipping container should have a useful lifespan of 40 years or more.
- We both rent and sell shipping containers. Our other items, such as our modular office trailers, are not always for sale. Always be sure to confirm availability with our sales team.
- For emergency preparedness solutions, you need to reserve your trailers by June of the corresponding hurricane season at the latest. If you request trailers and other equipment after that date, we cannot guarantee availability. If you do not want to take delivery but want to reserve them till they are needed, we can do that; however, you will need to pay the full rental cost for those standby months as we need to store them on our premises. After a major natural disaster, such as Hurricane María (2017), it took time for us to be able to make deliveries. So keep that in mind.
